I’ve just had a breast reduction with Sascha and I can not thank her and her nurses enough. What can I say apart from that she is the most amazing, supportive and lovely woman i’ve ever met and that I have no regrets at all. Sascha from my first consultation re-assured all of my worries and answered all of my questions, along with her wonderful nurses. Not only this, but she showed me the type of breast I could have and made sure I was happy with the size and shape so I was completely comfortable. Three weeks later the surgery was done and I was being looked after in Hartswood hospital, where both Sascha and her nurses constantly made sure I was okay, happy in my room and that I was healing appropriately... helping me wash, eat and walk around with my drains until it was time for me to go. Both nurses in Hartswood and Nuffield, having had my surgery in Hartswood and my check-ups at Nuffield, have been amazing and I could not wish for more support or a better service and the results of this surgery are better than I could have ever wished... being both the size and shape I wanted and no longer having any pain or saggy breasts is truly renewing... I feel 2 stone lighter!! I’m sure this is going to change my life for the better and I can’t thank them all enough. It was worth every penny.

I cannot praise Sascha enough. To be told you have grade 3 aggressive Cancer is probably every women's nightmare but I was treated with such understanding and care by all at Broomfield Hospital Breast Unit. From the first mammogram, the Biopsy and to actually seeing Sascha I was treated with the most sensitive kindness. Every treatment was explained and my questions answered. Should anyone else have the misfortune to get Breast Cancer i would recommend Sascha Dua and all the staff at Broomfield Hospital Breast Care unit. Their care is fantastic.

From the very first time of meeting Sascha Dua she was very attentive and REALLY listened to my concerns. She was always respectful to my feelings and gave straight answers to any questions I asked in a way that the layman can understand easily. She has a friendly and playful way of talking to people but still maintains a very professional persona. For me personally this is the perfect combination of personality/professionalism that makes me comfortable and inspires trust in a health professional. I would without doubt recommend Sascha to anyone that asked me for my opinion. When faced with a diagnosis of cancer you need someone that is both highly competent and professional as well as an empathy with the patient, Sascha Dua has all of this in ‘spades’. Finally, I would like to add that the whole team at the Breast Care Unit in Broomfield Hospital have been excellent. Doctors, nurses and radiographers all work as a complete team to make you feel comfortable and supported throughout your treatment.

Firstly, I would like to take the opportunity for thanking anyone who takes a profession in medical and care. It is an acquired job thus performed by utmost passion. Dear Sascha Today, sitting in my bed and thinking about what I have been through in one month alone, I am thanking my lucky stars. I consider myself to be fortunate enough to be referred to you as my consultant when abnormalities were found in the breast in an ultrasound scan following a mammography. A biopsy was performed and sent to lab. A week later, the news of an invasive cancer taking abode in the breast was delivered [by you] to my family and I with a lot of sensitivity in mind. You were so reassuring, that I took the news as a positive step forward. To be more precise and clear I still remember your words, "this is a very treatable condition". That does not mean to say that you played it down on what I was suffering from. Following that, you made every effort to know my professional background and otherwise. After discussing treatment options and the hospital where I could be treated, it felt as if you were trying to connect with me, and I did not feel like I was just another number in the queue at the NHS. I was given the choice between NHS and Private care, as I was insured for private medical care, and we discussed the possible dates of the operation and the possible outcomes, risks and risk management – as well as treatment in the worst-case scenario. I must admit it was a lot to take in, but also further reassuring that you were mindful of that and did not bombard me with lots of unnecessary information which may not have been relevant immediately – for me, that was the perfect way of dealing with me: I like to take things in my stride, one step at a time. It felt it was an individualised approach, Surgery was very quick, and on the day of surgery you came to see me personally and made further effort to know my daughter-in-law, who was present by my bedside. My daughter-in-law was very impressed with your way of talking to her and with such an easy going and quickly connecting nature. Your team was excellent on the day of operation, making an excellent effort to keep me relaxed, helping me to keep my spirits up until I went into surgery. In the theatre you and your team were excellent: they knew about me, my mannerisms, and my sense of humour. Everyone carried on in the same manner as you did, which really set me at ease. Once the surgery was over, I was told by my daughter -in-law that you came personally to tell her about the success of the operation – it was quite a positive experience for her. In the follow-up appointment, you were just as good as you had been previously. All the prevention options were discussed, and I was referred to the Oncology consultant with no information hidden from me, and nothing was said to me in a manner that would cause me to burst into tears. I have told you in person that you have been a God sent angel to me, and I stand by that! I wish every patient the same level of care and treatment as I had received, because that is what we need in our darkest hour. Lastly, I would like to wish every success and happiness to you Sascha Dua, because that what you deserve. Regards Jaya (Kamlesh R) Karir

From the start Miss Dua put me at ease. It is a very frightening thing to be told you have cancer. She explained all the procedures to me and did her best to reassure me. On the day of my surgery she greeted me and all her staff with a cheerful smile and a totally approachable manner. After the surgery she spoke to me again to reassure me that all had gone well. My subsequent appointment was to discuss the results of the biopsy. Again her reassuring and friendly manner made it easy to listen and take in what was being said, and also made it easy to ask questions. I know what my options are which removes the fear of ‘what next?’. I was extremely happy with the care and respect I received from Miss Dua and her entire team. It seemed clear that her manner extended to her team as well, which adds to the overall experience as they were all wonderful and made a good team. I would have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone who found themselves in my unfortunate situation. Thank you Miss Dua
